Long-running business to move to new premises in Ballina
Ballina-based firm Rouse Insurance Brokers has relocated from its premises on Pearse Street to offices at the Ballina Innovation Quarter.
Speaking about the move to Block C of the Ballina IQ, managing director Hugh Rouse said the decision was about preparing the business for the future while staying firmly rooted in Ballina.
“We work with families, businesses, community groups and volunteers across the town and beyond, and Ballina IQ gives us a modern base that supports how people want to engage today, whether that’s in person, over the phone or online,” he said. “The core of what we do doesn’t change: clear advice, local knowledge and being there when it matters most.”
Mr Rouse said Rouse Insurance has served the Ballina area and wider Mayo region for decades and will continue to offer the same advice-first approach, hands-on claims support and personal service it is known for.
He said that the company has worked in the town for over 40 years and this move reflects its support for the growing business hub alongside its commitment to improving services and investing in better integrated digital systems.
“Being based in Ballina has always mattered to us,” he said. “Ballina IQ allows us to support how the town is growing, while also investing in better systems, clearer communication and improved service for our clients.”
The Ballina IQ, located at the site of the town’s former military barracks, officially opened in late 2024 following an investment of €8 million to create an innovation and business hub designed to support enterprise, attract investment and drive economic growth in North Mayo. Owned by Mayo County Council and funded by the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government through its Urban Renewal Development Fund, the 1790s' military barracks has been transformed into modern, hi-spec office blocks and a business development resource for the region. The facility is now operated in partnership with Moy Valley Resources IRD.
