Local animal rescue pays an informative visit to north Mayo school

Pupils from Templemary National School had a visit from Ainmhithe, an animal rescue based in North Mayo, and had the opportunity to meet Red the collie puppy and Ivy the Irish Wolfhound

Ainmhithe Animal Rescue visited pupils at Templemary National School last month.

The charity was invited to speak to students about their work and they brought some of their rescue animals for a visit to the children.

Ainmhithe Animal Rescue is a small independent rescue that cares for abandoned and neglected animals in North Mayo.

Ainmhithe spent the morning speaking to pupils of Ms Holmes and Mr Dunford’s about animal care and rescue and took questions from students.

Students had opportunity to meet Red the collie puppy and Ivy the Irish Wolfhound who were popular visitors.

Ainmhithe was incredibly grateful to spend the morning with the children passing on information on animal welfare and work carried out by the charity.
