Injured woman rescued from Mayo area

Over the weekend, the Mayo Mountain Rescue team was tasked by An Garda Síochána to assist a woman who had fallen on Croagh Patrick.
The woman sustained a lower leg injury while descending the mountain. She was unable to continue and alerted the emergency services.
The mountain rescue first response team was dispatched, located the woman and provided emergency care and treatment.
MMRT stretcher party arrived shortly after and stretchered the woman to a waiting ambulance at the foot of the reek for further treatment and transport to MUH.
The mountain rescue team was stood down at 7.50pm.
They added, "We wish this woman a speedy and full recovery."
