Information night for sports and community groups seeking funding
Mayo Sports Partnership is inviting sports clubs and community groups from across Mayo to attend a Community Sport Facilities Fund 2026 information session on Monday, November 9, from 8 to 9.30pm at Mayo Education Centre, Castlebar, with an option to attend online.
The Community Sport Facilities Fund is the Government's primary funding programme for supporting the development and enhancement of sports and physical recreation facilities, as well as the purchase of eligible sports equipment. The 2026 programme includes grants of up to €250,000 for local projects, equipment grants of up to €70,000, Tier 2 grants ranging from €250,000 to €550,000, and new Tier 3 grants of up to €750,000 for larger multi-sport projects.
The information session is designed to help clubs and community groups understand the funding opportunities available, eligibility requirements, key dates and the application process.
The workshop will be delivered by Joe Butler who has extensive experience in preparing sports capital funding applications for the Mayo League over the years.
Attendees will be welcomed with tea and coffee on arrival before a detailed presentation on the Community Sport Facilities Fund 2026. The evening will conclude with a dedicated question-and-answer session, providing attendees with an opportunity to seek guidance on their proposed projects and applications.
This is an ideal opportunity for clubs and community groups considering facility development, facility improvements or sports equipment purchases to gain valuable insights and improve their chances of submitting a strong funding application.
Booking is essential and places can be reserved through Eventbrite or contact Mayo Sports Partnership's Club Development Officer Brendan Fergus by email at bfergus@mayococo.ie or telephone 094-9064605
