Housing scheme gets the go-ahead in Mayo town

A 25-unit social and affordable housing development is to go ahead on a site at Abbeyquarter, Ballyhaunis.
The project was unanimously approved by members of Claremorris Swinford-Municipal District at their meeting last week.
The development entails the construction of 25 new houses comprising two two-bedroom houses, nine three-bedroom houses, one four-bedroom house, two four-bedroom special needs houses and one four-bedroom community-dwelling, all as phase 2 of the existing adjoining development, along with all associated site development works.
Mayo Co Council's senior planner John McMyler confirmed that the scheme had been advertised publicly and no submissions or objections had been received. Councillors unanimously approved the new development.
