Gardaí at the scene of serious incident

Gardaí are attending the scene of what they described as a "serious incident" in Dublin City Centre.

The force confirmed the incident took place at Parnell Square East, but gave no further details as to the nature of the matter.

Emergency services have also attended the scene.

According to The Irish Times, a man is reported to have attacked a group of young people with a knife.

"At this early stage, An Garda Síochána is not in a position to confirm any further details," a statement from the Garda Press Office added.
