Gardaí alerted to the discovery of a body in Mayo

Gardaí were alerted to the discovery of a body of a man in a house in Westport, Co. Mayo earlier this morning, Monday, 26th August 2024 at approximately 6am.

The body was removed to Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar and a post-mortem will now take place, which will determine the course of the investigation.

Gardaí say foul play is not suspected at this time.
