Funerals of mother and daughters killed in Mayo crash taking place today

The funerals of Una Bowden and her two daughters who were killed in a fatal road collision in Mayo last week are taking place today.
The 47 year-old and her girls Ciara, aged 14, and Saoirse, aged nine, died tragically last Tuesday.
The incident occurred on the N17, a short distance from Claremorris, at about 2pm on Tuesday, March 26 when the car driven by Ms Bowden was involved in a collision with an articulated lorry.
They lived in Gortachalla near Moycullen, a Gaeltacht area in west Galway.
The funeral will be held in the small town of Raphoe in Donegal as the three are laid to rest.
The remains of Una Bowden and her daughters Ciara and Saoirse were taken from Mayo University Hospital to Donegal on Sunday to the home of Una’s father John Carlin in Donegal last Sunday.
The funeral cortege is due to leave the Carlin house at 11am this morning and travel to St Eunan’s Church, Raphoe for the 12-noon funeral mass.
