Fundraiser for young Mayo boy battling cancer receiving great support
Young Harry Coughter turns 6-years-old tomorrow and is currently fighting the battle of his life against Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL).
A fundraiser has been launched in support of a Mayo family and their son who is facing the fight of his life against Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL).
Harry Coughter from Manulla celebrates his 6th birthday tomorrow and while children his age are preparing for fun birthday celebrations, young Harry is facing ongoing treatment for the condition in hospital in Dublin.
A fundraiser has been set up on GoFundMe.com by his Aunt Laura, who explained that her brave nephew’s treatment requires his parents Nicola and MJ to be away from home and from Harry’s younger siblings Shane and Lily Mae.
“Nicola and MJ have to focus 100% of their energy on being by Harry's side providing comfort and supporting him through hospital stays and procedures,” she said.
“This is proving very difficult for Shane and Lily Mae missing Mommy and Daddy and big brother Harry.”
She said any contribution big or small goes straight towards living and travel expenses for Harry’s parents.
“Between travel, temporary accommodation in Dublin, daily living costs and keeping household bills paid back home the financial pressure is mounting quickly.
“We want to remove this burden from Nicola and MJ, so they can focus on what matters most helping Harry to heal and get back to being a balloon mad happy playful 6 year old.”
There has been a great response to the fundraiser with over 700 donations raising over €44,000 to support Harry and his family.
