Funding provided for new mobility vehicle in Bohola

Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, Dara Calleary TD on Friday visited the O’Dwyer Cheshire Home in Bohola to present a new mobility vehicle for the facility.
The wheelchair accessible 7-seater vehicle will provide mobility transport for residents of the facility and for their many service users.
This vehicle was funded with a grant of €61,875 under the 2025 CLÁR programme. The CLÁR programme funds small-scale infrastructure projects in designated rural areas through several measures.
Last year, the programme approved over €14 million for 238 projects, including community facilities and amenities, community vehicles, and specific support for island communities. This included €1m for 19 projects in Mayo to date.
Speaking at the Cheshire Home in Bohola, Minister Calleary said:
“It is a great pleasure to be here in Bohola to unveil this mobility vehicle for the O’Dwyer Cheshire Home. This vehicle will be used for medical, social, and training needs for the residents and service users of this hugely important facility.
“Through the CLÁR porgramme, facilities such as this are empowered to continue to deliver the wonderful service for those with mobility needs and other service providers including meals on wheels and search and rescue teams,”
