Public invited to Foxford CCTV initiative launch night
The Foxford CCTV Committee is hosting an official launch night and public meeting at the Moy Hotel.
Residents, businesses, and public representatives are invited to attend the launch of a community-led CCTV initiative aimed at improving safety and security in Foxford and the surrounding areas.
The Foxford CCTV Committee is hosting an official launch night and public meeting on Wednesday, 30th September 2026, at 7:00pm in The Moy Hotel, Foxford.
Established by members of the local community, the initiative aims to address concerns around crime, antisocial behaviour and the need for additional security measures in the town.
The proposed CCTV system also aims to support An Garda Síochána in their investigations, provide reassurance to residents and businesses, and contribute to a safer environment for everyone living in, working in, or visiting Foxford.
Next week’s meeting will allow the committee to introduce the project, outline its objectives, explain how the proposed CCTV system will operate, and discuss the funding required to bring the initiative to fruition.
The aim is to develop the initiative in phases, beginning with the town centre before exploring opportunities to extend coverage into surrounding areas.
Speaking ahead of the launch, the Foxford CCTV Committee is encouraging Foxford residents, along with people from neighbouring towns, to attend, learn more about the initiative and play a role in its success.
"Foxford is a wonderful community, and we all have a shared interest in keeping it a safe place to live, work and visit. This initiative is about coming together as a community and taking a proactive approach to supporting the safety and security of our town,” they said.
“We would encourage everyone from Foxford and the surrounding areas to come along on the evening, learn more about the project and share their thoughts. The success of this initiative will depend on the financial support of our community, and we would be very grateful to have as many people as possible involved."
The committee will provide information on how residents, local businesses, elected representatives and members of the wider community can support the project through its fundraising campaign, and is encouraging everyone to attend.
