Funding announcement for completion of long-awaited Mayo water project

News that funding has been announced for the completion of an East Mayo water connection project has been warmly welcomed.

Funding of €617,362 has been approved for the completion of the project in Clearagh, Kiltimagh.

This funding, confirmed by Minister Darragh O’Brien, will enable Mayo County Council to finalise the the project, which began in 2019.

The project, which has faced numerous challenges and delays, will now move forward to provide safe and reliable water 31 households .

Mayo TDs Dara Calleary and Alan Dillon have welcomed the long-awaited funding.

“I want to thank Cllr Adrian Forkan and the local residents for their assistance and perseverance as we worked through the obstacles to get to this point.

I look forward to a fresh, reliable water supply being available to the affected households,” said Minister Calleary.

“I am delighted to receive confirmation of this additional funding. This project is crucial for the community of Clearagh/Lisduff, providing them with a reliable water supply and supporting sustainable development in the area, commented Minister Dillon.
