Flooding is at crisis point at Lough Funshinagh in county Roscommon as people have been left with no option but to leave their homes.

Several roads have been closed and large sections of farmlands have been completely submerged in water.

Minister O’Donnell visited affected local people last week shortly after he was appointed OPW MInister following the cabinet reshuffle.
