Fascinating talk on Inishmurray Island

Jerry O'Sullivan has conducted extensive research work on Inishmurray Island, off the Sligo coast.
Mayo Historical and Archaeological Society will present the next talk in its current series at ATU Campus in Castlebar on Wednesday, February 21.
The talk by archaeologist Jerry O'Sullivan will explore the history and archaeology of Inishmurray Island.
This Early Christian monastic island off the coast of Co Sligo was evacuated on November 12th, 1948. The 75th anniversary of the evacuation was commemorated by Sligo County Council's Heritage Office last November.
Next week's talk is entitled 'Inishmurray, Co Sligo: History and archaeology of a monastic Island'.
Jerry O'Sullivan is a professional archaeologist with over 40 years experience in conservation, rescue and research work. His interests are in medieval church and settlement archaeology and in archaeological practice and regulation. He currently works as an archaeological project manager for Transport Infrastructure Ireland and is based in the National Roads Project Office in Galway.
He has carried out extensive research work on Inishmurray Island.
Jerry's talk will commence at 7.30pm. It should be a fascinating presentation. All are welcome.
