Children's Events Ballina Salmon Festival 2025 have released a statement following a vandalism incident in the town.
The social media post read, "Following a week of festival events, all of which were put together by a team of unpaid volunteers from the town, for the town, the organisers of the Teddy Bears Picnic were extremely disheartened to discover that the popular train has been vandalised.
"This mindless act of blatant disregard does not sit well and, unfortunately, is much too common. All week, hundreds of locals gave their time freely across a wide programme of Ballina Salmon Festival events to bring fun and entertainment to our streets, while a minority of our community have literally nothing better to do than kick in the sides of a festival train and ruin that feel-good factor that was evident all week.
"Organisers are following up on information received regarding this matter, and the incident has been reported to Ballina Garda Station. Please get in touch if you have any information."
