'Do Not Swim' warning issued for popular Mayo lake

Mayo County Council has issued an appeal to the public not to swim in Castlebar's Lough Lannagh.
This warning comes following the results of water samples received from the lake.
The county council has advised that resampling will be undertaken and that the notice will remain in place until the water quality improves.
The town centre of Castlebar is a short walk from the main entrance of Lough Lannagh.
