Disqualified Mayo town motorist arrested on suspicion of drink driving

Following complaints from the locals of Bonniconlon in relation to motorists speeding through the village, Gardaí from the Mayo Roads Policing Unit carried out a speed check.

Gardaí detected a vehicle with incorrect documentation on the windscreen. After a check on the Garda Mobility App, the driver of the vehicle was currently serving a disqualification from driving.

The driver of the vehicle was then Breath Tested to check if there was alcohol in his breath. The driver also failed this test and was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

The driver now faces a court date for driving while disqualified and a potential drink driving offence pending the results of the test.
