Council rejects bank planning application

Council rejects bank planning application

Council planners have run the rule over a number of developments in the county.

Mayo County Council has refused planning permission to Bank of Ireland for proposed works at its Castlebar branch.

Bank of Ireland applied to the local authority for permission to carry out the works at its branch on Ellison Street.

The bank sought to install a new ATM along with alterations to an existing window and the removal of a section of the existing stonework plinth. However, the application was rejected.

Meanwhile, Mayo County Council has approved planning for the conversion of derelict residential property in Swinford to apartments.

The application was made by Corajio, trading as Mr Price, to convert the two-storey property on Market Square to three two-bedroom apartments and a single one-bedroom apartment.

Elsewhere, PCC Investments Ltd has lodged a planning application with the council for an extension to the Castlebar Primary Care Centre on the Moneen Road. A decision is due in January 2024.
