Council presents special award to Irish dancing legend
Michael Flatley is presented with a Home to Mayo award
Mayo County Council were delighted to present the 'Lord of the Dance' Michael Flatley with a special Home to Mayo Award yesterday evening to mark the 31st Anniversary of The Mayo 5000 celebrations which started his incredible worldwide success.
Flatley came to national attention in 1993 when he took part in the Mayo 5000 celebrations. He then became a household name following his starring role in Riverdance at Eurovision in 1994.
Michael also kindly autographed a bottle of his new Flatley Whiskey which will be raffled at the Grand Finale Concert for Home To Mayo - The Transatlantic Journey Home, Friday May 24th.
