Coastguard rescue climber from Mayo mountain

Achill Island Coast Guard rescued a climber from Slievemore mountain on Monday.
“At 10.45 last Monday morning, our pagers sounded and our team was tasked to assist a person in distress on Slievemore Mountain,” the Coast Guard stated.
The Achill Island Coast Guard team made their way to the casualty and stretchered them down the mountain where they handed them over to a National Ambulance Service crew and gardaí for further care and assistance.
“We wish the casualty a speedy recovery. We are on call 24/7. If you see anyone in difficulty or in need of assistance, please call 999 or 112," they said.
