Busy Mayo road closed for emergency works

The road has been closed to facilitate emergency works.

A busy section of road in Mayo has been closed to facilitate emergency works.

Mayo County Council has closed the R321 between Bohola and Foxford this afternoon in order carry out emergency works on a bridge in the townlands of Bohola and Barleyhill.

The local authority say the road will be closed until September 8 at the earliest. 

However, detours have been put in place along the N5 to Ballyvary and the Straide Road N58 to Foxford.

Mayo County Council have apologised for any inconvenience.
