Mayo has elected its first TD in General Election 2024.

Sinn Féin's Rose Conway-Walsh, as expected following a strong first preference vote of 10,117, has been elected following the sixth count in Castlebar.

She is expected to be joined in the Dáil by Alan Dillon and Dara Calleary while the outcome of the fourth and fifth seat remains up in the air for now.

Her party colleague Gerry Murray was eliminated following this count as Deputy Conway-Walsh's surplus could not elect any of the remaining candidates and count 7 will see the distribution of his 4,091 votes.
