Alert: Weather warning in place for Mayo from this evening
The weather warning will be valid until 2am on Thursday, August 22.
A Status Yellow Wind Warning will be in place for Mayo and Galway from 7pm this evening - Wednesday, August 21.
Met Éireann say there will be unseasonably strong and gusty south to southwest winds, coinciding with very high tides and heavy rain.
Potential impacts in western parts of counties include coastal flooding, wave over-topping, damage to temporary structures and difficult travelling conditions.
The weather warning will be valid until 2am on Thursday, August 22.
