The May temperature record, broken yesterday at 28.6 degrees, may be surpassed again today.

Met Éireann is predicting temperatures to rise as high as 30 degrees on Tuesday.

The weather forecaster said highest temperatures will range from 23 to 29 or 30 degrees.

Hottest conditions will be in Munster and south Leinster.

The hot conditions will continue tomorrow, with temperatures set to range from 22 to 29 or 30 degrees again.

Met Éireann said it will be hottest in the midwest and west.
