Connacht made it three wins in a row on Friday night when beating Welsh visitors Scarlets 31-14 at Dexcom Stadium in the United Rugby Championship – and they did thanks in part to the contribution of rising Mayo star Fiachna Barrett.
In what was the Geesala native’s ninth appearance for Connacht, Barrett came off the bench to score his side’s bonus point try. It was Barrett's first try for the Connacht team.
It was an excellent win for Stuart Lancaster's side given they had no fewer than 18 players unavailable for selection between injury and national selection, among them former Ballina players Harry West and Dave Heffernan.
