The Republic of Ireland squad for the upcoming international break has been named by head coach Heimir Hallgrímsson.

The Boys in Green face Finland at the Aviva Stadium this day week (Thursday, November 14) before they conclude their UEFA Nations League campaign against England in Wembley Stadium on Sunday, November 17.

Among the 23-man squad is Stoke City striker Tom Cannon.

Cannon, on loan at the Potters from Leicester City, has been in fine goalscoring form in the English Championship this season - netting six goals in his last seven league games.

The Liverpool-born attacker has strong west of Ireland roots with the 21-year-old having close connections in Sligo, Mayo and Galway.

The Mayo link comes through relatives from Louisburgh and Balla while a grandmother is a native of Recess, Connemara.
