Cannon, on loan at the Potters from Leicester City, has been in fine goalscoring form in the English Championship this season - netting six goals in his last seven league games.
The Liverpool-born attacker has strong west of Ireland roots with the 21-year-old having close connections in Sligo, Mayo and Galway.
The Mayo link comes through relatives from Louisburgh and Balla while a grandmother is a native of Recess, Connemara.

Cannon, who made his Irish senior debut last June in a friendly fixture against Portugal, scored in Stoke's 2-0 away victory over Blackburn last night.
