The Mayo Football League have appointed Alan Henry as the new Oscar Traynor manager for the upcoming season.

He succeeds Joe Kelly in the role, who led the county to the Oscar Traynor final in 2024 and a semi-final earlier this year.

"Alan brings a wealth of experience to the position and is very familiar with the local scene," said the Mayo League in a statement.

A UEFA B licence holder, Alan has nearly two decades of experience as a coach, including roles as coach of League of Ireland club Finn Harps and assistant manager of the Sligo Rovers WU17 team in the National League.

He was also appointed manager of Ballina Town in 2023, where he led the side to the Mayo Super Cup title, defeating Westport United in the final.

The management team will now begin preparations immediately for the campaign, with only one team set to qualify from the Connacht region.

Mayo's first game will be a home tie on Sunday, October 19, against Sligo/Leitrim League. They will be away to Galway League on Sunday, November 16 before their final Connacht game against Roscommon League on Sunday, December 14.
