Mayo FC academy head steps down

Michael English has stepped down as Mayo FC's head of academy.
Mayo FC have announced that Michael English has stepped down as the club’s head of academy.
Joe Faughnan, chairman of Mayo FC, said: “We’re deeply disappointed to lose Michael as Head of Academy this year. He has played such an integral role in the club and has done incredible work throughout the season. That said, we completely understand and respect his decision, given how busy his work and family commitments have become.
“Michael’s contributions have been nothing short of remarkable. He set high standards during his time with us, laying a strong foundation for the academy’s future. From obtaining the license to establishing the club and working tirelessly with all the teams throughout the year, his efforts have been invaluable.
“We hope to see Michael back with Mayo FC in some capacity in the future. On behalf of everyone at the club, I’d like to thank him for everything he has done and wish him the very best of luck in all his future endeavours.”
