A councillor has said Mayo County Council’s "poor management" of its intake of international protection applicants has negatively affected visitor numbers at the county’s tourist locations.

A 79-year-old man has passed away from injuries received in a fall on Croagh Patrick, last Friday. He has been named locally as Pat O’Mahony, who lived at The Harbour Mill complex at Westport Quay.
