Disappointment as Tom loses his council seat

There is a lot of disappointment in Claremorris that local Fine Gael councillor Tom Connolly failed to be elected to one of the six seats in the Claremorris Electoral Area of Mayo County Council.
Tom was first elected to the council in 2004 and successfully returned in the elections of 2009, 2014 and 2019. He lost out narrowly to Aontú's Paul Lawless.

Tom was a very hard-working public representative who put his heart and soul into his work. He can be very proud of his legacy, having diligently represented Claremorris over the last 20 years and the town is certainly all the better for Tom's outstanding contribution to public life.
