Ballinrobe Town AFC is pleased to announce that they will hold a music bingo, and summer barbeque in Flannery’s Bar and Restaurant, on Saturday, August 9. Music bingo works in a similar fashion to regular bingo, except instead of numbers the host DJ plays one minute clips of popular songs and participants tick the songs off on their bingo cards. The club held a very successful music bingo fundraiser on April 26 last. Further details will be available closer to the date on the Ballinrobe Town Facebook page. Tickets will be on sale soon.
Ballinrobe Town AFC is delighted to partner with the FAI Mayo to launch the upcoming Cadbury Kick Fit Programme. If you're a woman over 18 and want to get out, get fit, have great fun with new people whilst playing soccer, then this could be for you. Whether or not you have played soccer before does not matter. All levels are welcome and why not give it a go. This programme will be starting soon, and those interested are asked to email alan.dowling@ballinrobetownafc.com.

The Parents Association of Cong National School recently held its AGM and the following committee were elected: chairperson Darragh King; secretary Siobhan McGrath; treasurer Laura Murphy; PRO Lorraine O’Malley.
Cong National School was awarded the Green School Flag and is a great achievement for the rural south Mayo school. The prestigious Green Flag is part of the Green-Schools Programme, Ireland’s leading environmental education initiative for schools. It recognises the incredible efforts made by the school community to promote sustainability, reduce waste, and care for the planet. Achieving the Green Flag is no small feat – it takes commitment, teamwork, and a strong sense of environmental responsibility. Cong National School is proud of everyone involved in this achievement. A range of activities take place including music, woodwork, pottery, gardening, and is also open to men who just want to call in for a chat and a cup of tea/coffee. Meals on Wheels are hot meals delivered to individuals at home (either on a temporary or long term basis). Meals on wheels can make your life easier. This service covers Ballinrobe and the Lake District area. Deliveries take place on Monday’s, Wednesday’s and Thursday’s and consist of soup, main meal and dessert. People can also avail of two meals on Monday’s and Thursday’s. Bingo (also via-Zoom) takes place in the Parish Centre, Ballinrobe, on Tuesday (tonight) at 8.30pm. For those wishing to play via-Zoom or who require further details and information, contact Monica at 087 4111343. Books are also available to purchase in the Tacú Centre.

Each call to the low-cost counselling service is dealt with promptly and the caller is matched with a suitable counsellor. This is an extremely confidential service.
Youth counselling is available by contacting the Tacú Family Resource Centre. Two counsellors are available for young people aged 16-25, who are struggling with relationships, anxiety, worries, or who just simply wants someone to listen to them. Ballinrobe Rugby Club is pleased to announce that they will hold a ‘Quid Games’ fundraiser on Saturday, October 18, in the MacWilliam Park Hotel, Claremorris. This thrilling event will feature six skill-based challenges testing everyone, with both mental and physical challenges. Contestants will battle it out through elimination rounds, until just two remain to face off in an epic final. The event will see €6,000 of prize money up for grabs and will be awarded as follows: €3,000 for the winner; €2,000 for the runner-up; €1,000 for third place.
All funds raised will go directly towards the development of Ballinrobe Rugby Club’s facilities, with a major goal being the purchase of land to secure the club’s future. Ballinrobe Rugby Club president Deirdre Burke issued the following statement on the club’s Facebook page: 'We’re excited to launch our upcoming fundraiser as we aim to improve our facilities and, ideally, secure land for future development. It’s fantastic to see such strong participation across all levels, from minis and youths to our senior teams. The growing numbers really highlight the need for upgraded and expanded facilities to support everyone involved.
