VW unveils latest member of SUV family

Volkswagen Passenger Cars has unveiled the latest member of its SUV family at the Paris Motor Show 2024,
The Tayron is a versatile SUV sitting between the Touareg and the Tiguan in terms of size.
The 204hp plug-in hybrid can become an electric car for everyday driving with an electric range of over 100kms. The battery can be charged with up to 11 kW at an AC callbox or AC charging station and with up to 50 kW at DC quick-charging stations.
The Tayron will be available with a plug-in hybrid drive with five seats or a turbocharged diesel engine with seven seats. All are coupled to an automatic dual clutch (DSG) gearbox.
Pre-sales open in December with first vehicles arriving in Irish showrooms in March 2025.
Full pricing and Irish specifications will be announced nearer to launch.
