VW reveals more info on ID.7

VW says the ID.7 Tourer is a fusion of a class estate in the format of the Passat and a shooting brake like their Arteon.

Volkswagen has revealed more details of its upcoming ID.7 Tourer, the company’s first all-electric estate car, writes Trish Whelan. 

It is the flagship among the brand’s electric models.

The company says the ID.7 Tourer is a fusion of a class estate in the format of the Passat and a shooting brake like their Arteon.

Two different battery sizes are offered with up to 685km WLTP-rated range. The largest battery can be charged up to 200kW at DC quick-charging stations, from 10-80pc in under 30 minutes.

Standard features will include an augmented head-up display, while options of a massage seat and a panoramic roof with ‘smart’ glass that automatically darkens in sunlight will also be available.

A luggage capacity of 605 litres is expandable to 1,714 litres.

Volkswagen Group Ireland expects right-hand drive Tourers to land here in the second half of 2024, ahead of the 251-plate change.
