Ford release details of new Transit Connect

Ford’s new third-generation Transit Connect compact van goes into production later this year.
A plug-in hybrid version of Ford’s new third-generation Transit Connect compact van will be included in the powertrain line-up when it goes into production later this year.
The PHEV version will offer businesses a targeted 110km electric range as well as both AC and DC fast charging capabilities.
Three grades will be offered.
Carrying capacity has been increased with load volumes of up to 3.7m3, and the van comes with a connected digital cockpit and a full suite of advanced driver assistance systems.
The PHEV system couples a 1.5 EcoBoost petrol engine to a high-voltage battery and electric motor to deliver 150hp and 350Nm of torque. Maximum payload is 770kg and max trailer weight is 1,400kg.
Initial deliveries of the 2.0 turbo-diesel van with outputs of 122hp and 102hp are scheduled for summer this year.
