As part of an ongoing partnership with Clean Coasts Ireland, Kia Ireland is the official sponsor of the Big Beach Clean 2024, which takes place from September 20 to 22 all over Ireland.
The endeavour is part of the International Coastal Cleanup and invites volunteers from across Ireland to remove coastal litter after the end of the bathing season. The data collected from this campaign is part of a worldwide citizen science project that aims to heighten awareness about the issue of Marine litter and help shape future policies in this area.
Last year, over 400 groups registered to host a clean-up, with 7,700 Clean Coasts volunteers removing a staggering 46 tonnes of litter from Irish beaches.
Cathal Kealey, Head of Marketing and Public Relations at Kia Ireland, says Kia’s support will ensure that clean-up kits are distributed to all volunteers who sign up to registered clean-ups across the country.
