Lahardane’s cherished Harvest Fair is back, bringing three days of excitement, tradition and community spirit to the village from August 14 to 16. With brand new attractions, beloved traditions, and something for every age group, this year promises more fun than ever before.

The festivities begin on Thursday next, August 14, with a lively Social Dancing Night in the local community centre. Join the fantastic Carmel McLoughlin and a special guest for a night of music, spot prizes and a spirited dance competition. Whether you're a dancing regular or just enjoy the atmosphere, it’s a great way to kick off the weekend.

The Harvest Fair Day takes place on Friday, August 15, from 12 noon in the field across from Leonard’s Pub in the heart of Lahardane.

Don’t miss the famous Bonniconlon Blacknose Sheep, with live demonstrations by the Newport Shepherds; Little Top performance, bouncy castle, dog show, and more family-friendly fun; Wheel of Fortune, Hang Tough, Fun Fair classics, and the ever-popular Wine to Water; Free face painting, competitions, and prizes including vouchers for local hotels, salons, restaurants and more; The Tea Tent, where you can relax with a cuppa and some sweet treats while catching up with neighbours; Live performances from local talents Kathlyn and Maeve, and energetic routines from the Moffatt School of Dancing.

The day finishes with the traditional auction, a crowd favourite that always delivers entertainment and great value.

Once the field events conclude, the celebrations continue in the local pubs.

The fun continues with the ever-popular Trader’s Race at 7pm on Saturday, August 16. Expect light-hearted competition, local laughs and plenty of banter to wrap up the weekend in style.

All proceeds from this year’s Harvest Fair will go directly to Lahardane National School. Thanks to your support in recent years, fair funds have delivered new playground surfacing, educational trips, library upgrades and more – all of which benefit local children directly.

The organising committee is grateful to the many local and national businesses whose generous sponsorship and donations make the fair possible. As a community, they take pride in working together to build a brighter future.

Please note there will be road closures in Lahardane on Friday, August 15, from 2pm to 6pm and Saturday, August 16, from 7 to 8pm. Parking is available at the local community centre.

Weather: This is the west of Ireland, so pack your wellies just in case. Rain or shine, the fun goes on.
