Discover the Magic of Lahardane’s Harvest Fair – A Day of Fun in the Heart of the Village

Lahardane, Co. Mayo, August 2025 – Lahardane’s cherished Harvest Fair is back, bringing three days of excitement, tradition and community spirit to the village from 14 to 16 August 2025. With brand new attractions, beloved traditions, and something for every age group, this year promises more fun than ever before.

Thursday, 14 August – Get Your Dancing Shoes On!

The festivities begin with a lively Social Dancing Night in the local community centre. Join the fantastic Carmel McLoughlin and a special guest for a night of music, spot prizes and a spirited dance competition. Whether you're a dancing regular or just enjoy the atmosphere, it’s a great way to kick off the weekend.

Friday, 15 August – Harvest Fair Day (from 12 pm) 

The big day begins at 12 pm in the field across from Leonard’s Pub, in the heart of Lahardane.

Don’t miss:

- The famous Bonniconlon Blacknose Sheep, with live demonstrations by the Newport Shepherds 

- Little Top performance, bouncy castle, dog show, and more family-friendly fun 

- Wheel of Fortune, Hang Tough, Fun Fair classics, and the ever-popular Wine to Water 

- Free face painting, competitions, and prizes including vouchers for local hotels, salons, restaurants and more 

- The Tea Tent, where you can relax with a cuppa and some sweet treats while catching up with neighbours 

- Live performances from local talents Kathlyn and Maeve, and energetic routines from the Moffatt School of Dancing The day finishes with the traditional auction, a crowd favourite that always delivers entertainment and great value.

Once the field events conclude, the celebrations continue in the local pubs.

Murphy’s Entertainment Line-up 

15 August: Seán Loughran, Hannah and Oisín, 16 August: Paddy Garvin, 17 August: Kyle Hampson.

Breakfast and pizza served daily 17 August: 12 pm to 3 pm – Buffet lunch.

Murphy’s 

14 August: 6pm to 9 pm – Bar food 15 August: 12 pm to 6 pm – Lunch 16 August: 6 pm to 9 pm – Bar food 17 August: 12.30 pm to 4 pm – Lunch.

Saturday, 16 August – The Trader’s Race, 7PM 

The fun continues with the ever-popular Trader’s Race. Expect light-hearted competition, local laughs and plenty of banter to wrap up the weekend in style.

All proceeds from this year’s Harvest Fair will go directly to Lahardane National School. Thanks to your support in recent years, fair funds have delivered new playground surfacing, educational trips, library upgrades and more – all of which benefit local children directly.

Road closures:

Friday 15 August from 2 pm to 6 pm, Saturday 16 August from 7 pm to 8 pm 

Parking: Available at the Community Centre 

Weather: This is the west of Ireland, so pack your wellies just in case. Rain or shine, the fun goes on.
