Gardaí at scene of hit-and-run involving a stolen jeep in Carlow

Gardaí are at the scene of a serious hit-and-run incident involving a stolen jeep and a motorbike in Carlow town.
Gardaí closed off the Leighlin Road in Graiguecullen following the multi-vehicle crash which occurred around 9 am on Wednesday.
In a statement, gardaí said that both they and "emergency services are currently at the scene of a road traffic collision at Leighlin Road, Graiguecullen, Carlow Town, that occurred this morning.
An Air Corps helicopter is understood to be currently involved in transferring the injured motorcyclist to hospital.
Garda sources confirmed the jeep is believed to have been stolen from Dublin.
The road is currently closed, local diversions are in place.
“As this is an ongoing incident, no further information is available at this time,” the statement added.
A garda helicopter is understood to be involved in pursuit of the stolen jeep.
