Over €700,000 worth of drugs were seized, and two men were arrested in Dublin on Saturday.

Shortly after 3.30pm, gardaí attached to the Drugs Unit at Coolock intercepted a car in the Dublin 1 area and recovered cannabis valued at €100,000.

A man in his 20s was arrested at the scene.

During follow-up searches at two residential properties in the Dublin 1 area, cannabis valued at €551,000, cocaine valued at €70,000 and two sums of cash - £33,000 and over €4,000 - were seized.

A second man in his 30s was also arrested.

Both men are currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at a Garda station in Dublin.

All drugs seized will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for examination, and investigations are ongoing, gardaí said.
