The ever-popular Ballinrobe Market will return next Saturday, June 21, from 11am to 3pm. The market will take place in the Ballinrobe Library Grounds and the cost for sellers to take part is €15 per stand.
This market continues to grow in popularity, which aims to be a platform for artisan crafters, artists, and local producers to promote and sell their products.
There has been a great buzz in Ballinrobe when this monthly market takes place and you can really sense the positive vibe that encapsulates the town.

There was no winner of the €10,000 lotto jackpot draw for Western Alzheimers, which was held on Wednesday, June 11. The numbers drawn were 3, 13, 16 and 23.
Ballinrobe will face Ardnaree Sarsfields in a crucial Senior Football League Division One (A) encounter next Saturday, June 21. The game will take place at Flanagan Park, and will throw in at 7pm.

There was no winner of the €27,300 jackpot in Ballinrobe GAA Club's Lotto draw, which was held on Monday, June 9. The numbers drawn were 5, 17, 18 and 36.
The match three winner (€100) was Gráinne McGrath.
Congratulations to the Ballinrobe LGFA U14 girls’ team on winning the Division 2 Cup title after defeating MacHale Rovers in the final. The game was played at the Connacht Centre of Excellence in Bekan on Tuesday last.
Ballinrobe played some excellent football during the first half and led at the break on a scoreline of 3-6 to 1-2.
MacHale Rovers tried their level best to find a route back into the game but couldn’t halt the Robesiders momentum and the South Mayo girls ran out 6-10 to 1-6 winners in the end.

Ballinrobe Rugby Club Rugby sevens' training for under-11 and under-12 boys’ and girls’ teams commenced at The Green on Saturday morning last.
Parents wishing to register their children are asked to please visit the club’s Facebook page or contact any committee member.
Ballinrobe Rugby Club held its weekly 50/50 draw on Sunday, June 8, with Hilary Flannery the lucky winner of €500.
Ballinrobe Rugby Club will hold a two-day Connacht Rugby Camp at The Green, on Monday, July 28 and Tuesday, July 29. The camp costs €60 per child and is for boys and girls aged 6 to 12, and runs daily from 9.30am to 1pm.

Ballinrobe LGFA is delighted to announce that the club has been selected as this month’s ‘Bingo for a Cause’ at the weekly game of bingo in the town.
The weekly game of bingo takes place tonight (Tuesday) at 8.30pm in the Parish Centre, Ballinrobe. Single books cost €8, whilst double books cost €15. The option to play via Zoom is also available.
This event is being organised in collaboration with the Tacú Family Resource Centre, Ballinrobe.

Ballinrobe Golf Club was honoured to host the Special Olympics Connacht Golf Skills Regional Qualifying Event, which took place on Tuesday, June 11.
It was a truly uplifting day filled with determination, joy, and incredible talent. Athletes from across the region showcased their golf skills across a series of challenges including wood shots, pitch shots, chip shots, short putts and more, all on the practice facilities at Ballinrobe Golf Club.
Well done to all the competitors who took part and congratulations to the medal winners. Their energy and spirit brought great pride to everyone involved.
Ballinrobe Golf Club would also like to say thank you to Special Olympics Connacht, all the golf club’s volunteers, staff, and officers, as well as the supporters and families who helped make the day such a success.

The €30 winners were Pat and Cathy McGrath, and Michael McGrath.

Friars Lodge Nursing Home in Ballinrobe recently took part in a national event to celebrate art in nursing homes for Bealtaine.
They received a grant of €1,000 from Age and Opportunity and Nursing Homes Ireland, which was the top prize for 2025. The Ballinrobe nursing home had an art exhibition for its residents who took part in printing art workshops accompanied by their families and friends who enjoyed tea and scones.
Management at Friars Lodge also invited Ballinrobe's Men's Shed musicians, Ballinrobe Ukulele Group, Bright Beginnings After School with Frank Keane and Shane Mc Grath, Ballinrobe.
Attendees shared ice cream together during the afternoon and enjoyed Irish dancing performed by the children from Bright Beginnings.
It was a wonderful day - well done to all involved.
