West Sligo Athletics Club

West Sligo Athletics Club are excited to share their 0-5km eight week plan, which commenced yesterday Monday, February 12 and will continue until Saturday, April 6. There are 3 x 30 minute sessions per week and they can be done as a group but this is not compulsory. The group sessions are Monday evenings at 7pm, Thursday evenings at 8pm. The objective is to bring non-running adults to the point where they can do the 5km Club Runs/Park Runs. This is a relaxed environment, and the club are more concerned about enjoyment and a path to sustained exercise, rather than performance. The cost is €30 (which will go to West Sligo AC). If you are interested email westsligoac@gmail.com The club will provide advice on what to wear, gear, Park Runs, answer any questions, weekly plan via WhatsApp – you are free to work by yourself, and two sessions per week where you are free to join a group. The aim is to do a 5k on Saturday, April 6 and hopefully regularly after that.

West Sligo AC will be doing the very popular 5km Summer Series again this year, where they have runs each week in various locations across the catchment area – Easkey, Castleconnor, Stokane, Pullaheeney, Rathlee, Enniscrone, Kilglass, Dromore West etc.
