World Youth Silver medalliast Carlagh Peake, Ballyhaunis, presents Sonnie Kavanagh KFC with the Kelly Cup after a very successful tournament which was held in Knockmore recently.

Moygownagh Ramblers

Moygownagh Ramblers November meeting is Thursday, November 28, at 7pm in Moygownagh Learning Forum where they will start making Christmas wreaths. The last meeting saw guest Antoinette Hoban, receive a warm welcome. An accomplished musician and singer Antoinette slotted right in, playing solo tunes, singing along and preforming a duet.

Science Week

Carn National School enjoyed a visit from a scientist from Lab-a-doo and the children had the opportunity to take part in several experiments.

Youth Masses

This year the Youth Masses will incorporate primary and secondary school students from the parish. The first Youth Mass will take place in St. Cormac’s Church Moygownagh on Sunday, December 1, at 11am. There will be a practice in the Church on Thursday, November 28 from 6-7pm.

All children/students living in the parish are welcome to come along and participate in the Mass. All those interested in reading, prayers, singing solo are asked to make themselves available for practice on Thursday evening. Choir practices for Christmas will also take place on Thursday beginning on November 28, from 6 to 7pm. Anybody interested in singing are welcome to come along. No audition necessary.

25 Drive

25 card game in Moygownagh Community Centre on Friday, November 29, at 9pm. All proceeds going to the community centre and club. All are welcome.

Community Bus

Crossmolina Community Council are looking to offer their community bus to a wider section of the local population. The bus is an essential commodity for the community and it is in the interest of all to keep it running. They are trying to expand the Wednesday service, which currently runs from 12.30 to 3.30pm weekly. The service can be used to attend the doctor, pharmacy, hairdresser, the library or any other need you may have. It is a great chance to meet a friend for lunch or shopping. If there is sufficient uptake the service could be made official through Local Link and be free for pensioners. Currently the rate is €5 return. They provide options, support and guidance for individuals and their families experiencing mental health difficulties. Meals on Wheels

Killala Community Council (Newstart) Ltd are running a Meals on Wheels service for Killala and surrounding areas. They aim to provide nourishing quality meals at an affordable price to any senior citizen who signs up. The meals will have two courses and can be collected or delivered.
