Ardagh

End of the line

Ardagh took their leave of the Mayo GAA Treanlaur Catering junior football championship when succumbing to a more experienced Kiltimagh side in a pulsating and highly entertaining semi-final (after extra time) played in Foxford last week. While the defeat may be a bitter blow to the North Mayo team they, nevertheless, may feel justifiably proud of their trojan efforts throughout the entire 2025 championship and league campaigns. Indeed, they savoured sweet success by winning their county divisional league title in early June. This achievement coupled with their noteworthy championship run augurs well for the team as a collective unit going forward which comprises young and very experienced players. The secret, however, is to harness, encourage and support all involved in shaping a team which the club members can feel very proud of. Knowing the positivity, work ethic and tenacity of all associated with its club committees, senior and under age team managements this, undoubtedly, can be achieved in the not-too-distant future. Roll on 2026.
