Promotion to Super League

Senior men’s team player and manager Dan Gorman, Kilglass Enniscrone Utd FC reflected on their year to date and spoke words of encouragement as the team need just one point from their final games of the season to be crowned champions and they have already been promoted to the Super League. Dan is assisted as coach by Trevor Nash.

‘This year has been amazing so far for our senior men’s team. When myself and Trevor first came in as managers it was all about steadying the ship from previous years and trying to make our team competitive. We had sat down and hoped for a mid table finish and buyild from there. What has happened since it’s just amazing. After losing our first two league games with a small depleted squad, we sat down in the dressing room befor the Manorhamilton Rangers game, and all agreed we were better than that. We won that game 5-4 in the last minute and from there something just clicked’.

‘Since then we’ve gone from strength to strength each week and are currently on a 13 game unbeaten run. With this momentum we’ve put ourselves in a great position. After last weekends result we’ve been promoted to the Super League, which is a massive achievement for this group of lads’.

‘We’ve such a good mix of youth and experience, and each and every one of these lads has contributed throughout the season. We’ve 22 lads at every game and for me as manager, that is incredible’.

‘The club has supported us massively and I want to thank each and every one of them for that. A special mention to Pat who is with us every step of the way this year. And our supporter base has gotten bigger every week and it’s great to see, so thank you to everyone who’s showing up at games it’s a massive help’.

‘With these games left, we need one point to be crowned champions, and it’s nothing more than this club and these lads deserve. Hopefully, we get big crowds for our last three games to help push us over the line and bring the long-awaited League Cup back to Kilglass Enniscrone United', concluded Dan.
