KCC Monthly Bingo Night
The next bingo night will be held in the Turf Shed on Wednesday, November 15, at 8pm. Future bingo nights for your diary include December 6.
KCC Indoor Soccer
Weekly Friday night indoor soccer takes place in Killasser Community Centre with 6pm kick-off. €2 per child or €5 per family.
Quiz Night
The Turf Shed, Killasser will host a table quiz on Saturday, November 25, at 8pm. Proceeds from the quiz will go towards the senior parishioner’s Christmas dinner.
Golf Club Card Games
Weekly Card Games in the Golf Club continue every Thursday at 9pm. All welcome.
Killasser Card Games
Monday night card game continues in Killasser Community Centre at 8pm. All welcome including beginners.
Weighbridge
Plans are in place to renovate and refurbish the old Weighbridge building at Lower Brookville Avenue, Swinford. Efforts are being made to find out the history of the weighbridge and any stories about this historic piece of the town’s history would be particularly welcome. Coolegrane Lights
Coolegrane Lights will be switched on Friday, December 8, at 7pm. All proceeds this year will go to Mayo/Roscommon Hospice Palliative Care Service.
Fundraising concert in Knock Basilica
A Christmas Spectacular in Knock Basilica on Friday, December 1. An evening of songs of Faith, Hope and Love, and Christmas. Featuring Margo, Philomena Begley, Donna Taggart, John McNicholl and Marc Roberts. Also featuring Una Nolan and Schola Cantorum Basilicae. Tickets €30 available from ticketmaster.ie handling fee may apply. Limited number of tickets available from Mary McNicholas in Victim Assistance Head Office. This special event will raise funds for Victim Assistance, supporting victims of crime and trauma victims in Ireland. Doors open at 6.30pm and the show begins at 8pm.

Swinford Go Getters
Swinford Go Getters host activator pole instruction in the Cultural Centre Swinford each Thursday from 1.30 to 2.30pm and the cost is €4. It is good exercise to keep participants fit. On the first Thursday of each month from 12.30 to 1.30pm there will be a games session e.g. Boccia, Skittles, Parachute etc. Refreshments are served and for more information contact Ann at 087 7459089 or Bridie 087 9049723.
Floral demonstration
Swinford and District Gardening Club and Swinford Camera Club will hold a charity Christmas Floral Demonstration in aid of Irish Cancer Night Nursing Palliative Care Service. It will take place in the Cultural Centre at 8pm on Tuesday, December 5. Further information will be given in the coming weeks.
One Act Drama Festival
Cloonacool Players open Tubbercurry One Act Drama Festival on Thursday, November 16, with their powerful rendering of Malachy McKenna’s ‘The Quiet Land’. An outstanding play with equally outstanding performances from Martin McIntyre and Dennis Ross.
Lotto
The numbers drawn in the Swinford Community lotto draw held last week were 3, 7, 13 and 30. Christmas Market
The annual two-day Christmas Market will take place on Saturday, December 2 and Sunday, December 3, in the Cultural Centre.
Brass and Reed Band
Foxford Brass and Reed Band will host an open night for youth aged between 9 and 18 years in the Band Room (the former County Courthouse) Main Street, Foxford on Thursday, November 16, at 5pm. This is a great opportunity to try an instrument and maybe take up a new hobby.
Light of Love
The Butterfly Garden is organising the Light of Love this year in the lead up to Christmas. It will be possible to sponsor a Light of Love in memory of someone who has passed away or in honour of someone going through a tough time due to illness, bereavement etc. All names for which lights are sponsored are entered into a Special Register and will be remembered at the Light of Love Mass on December 22, at 10am in Swinford Church. The Light of Love Christmas Tree will be lit up in early December on a date to be confirmed.
All proceeds in aid of The Butterfly Garden Maintenance Fund.

The rosary will be recited in the following locations on Sunday, November 19; Workhouse Cemetery at 1pm, Midfield Cemetery at 3.30pm and Kinaffe Cemetery at 4.15pm.
KCC 50/50 draw
Congratulations to Euan O’Grady who was the October winner of the Killasser Community Centre 50/50 draw winning €600. €20 spot prizes were won by Frank Heaney and Beatrice Goldrick. The November Draw will be held on Saturday, December 2.
Meelick Card results
Results of the games played in Meelick on Tuesday, November 7. Bohola
Mayo People of the Year Award 2023
Congratulations to the committee of the Bohola Post Commemorative Edition on being selected for a Mayo People of the Year Award 2023. This prestigious Award will be presented to them at a gala banquet on Friday, November 17, in Breaffy House Hotel, Castlebar. Well done to all concerned.
Annual General Meeting
The 2023 Bohola Moy Davitts annual general meeting will be held on Sunday, November 26, at 5pm in Straide Hall.
Raffle
The Durkan Bohola Community Park are holding a raffle: 1st prize 2 tickets to Manchester United v Bayern Munich Champions League in Old Trafford on Wednesday, December 12, at 8pm. €250 cash to go towards flights, hospitality opens at 5 and includes a free bar, 3 course dinner, match day programmes, 2 x top class seats to watch a must win match for United to qualify for the next round of the champions league. Tickets are €10 each or 3 for €20 and are available from Clarkes shop, The Village Inn or any committee member. The draw will take place in The Village Inn, Bohola on November 18, at 9pm. Money raised goes directly into the development of the park. Lots of other prizes on the night, including prizes from Corduff Travel and Westport house.
Social Bingo
Social bingo continues in The Sheridan Memorial Community Centre Bohola every Monday night commencing at 9pm. Books are €5 each. Tea and sandwiches available on the night.

Income Tax Rebate
Income Tax Rebate Forms are available in the church. The church as a charitable organisation can claim back the tax you have already paid on church donations. So if you are a PAYE or self-employed worker and have paid €250 or more to the church in the tax year, fill in one of the forms and return it to the Parochial House at your earliest convenience. From our records we will fill in the amount donated. It will cost you nothing but will add to parish funds. The relevant form, CHY3, is an Enduring Certificate for a period of 5 years. It can also be downloaded from the revenue.ie website. Thanks in anticipation.
Cemetery Rosaries
Cemetery Rosaries for all our dead will be recited in St Joseph’s Cemetery after Mass next Sunday, November 19, and in the old graveyard after Mass on Sunday, November 26. As always the weather will have the final say.

A soccer and basketball registration and information evening (1st-6th class) will be held in Bohola Community Centre, on Sunday, November 12, at 6.30pm. Games will commence on Thursday, November 30, from 6.30pm - 8.30pm and will continue every Thursday and Friday thereafter.
