Knockmore

Eamonn Clarke a true gentleman

The late Eamonn Clarke whose death took place last week following a short illness, was described by locals as a true gentleman, a keen businessman ever pleasant to meet, with a great love for his native parish Knockmore and a dedicated supporter of Knockmore GAA both on and off the field. He was also involved with management where his attention to detail was described always as second to none.

Eamonn was a keen businessman who owned the well-known fashion store 'Flair' in  Ballina. It was very popular with many and was always up to date with fashion and was a much loved store to visit and look around.

Eamonn of Fohill, Carramore-Lacken, was a native of Carrentrilla, Knockmore and a member of a family of seven born to parents Peter and Agnes Clarke. Sadly, he was deceased by his parents, his sister Maree and brothers Padraic and Muredach.  Eamonn’s remains reposed at McGowans Funeral Home on Thursday evening, June 19, with his Requiem Mass celebrated at 12 noon in St Patrick's Church, Lacken on Friday. He was laid to rest afterwards in Rathfran cemetery.

Deepest sympathy is extended to Muriel, to his last remaining siblings - his sister Anne O'Hara, brothers Joe (Foxford) and Austin (Killanley), nephews, nieces, cousins, neighbours and many friends. May his gentle soul now rest in peace.  Knockmore GAA lotto.  The numbers drawn in the lotto which was held on Saturday, June 14, were 2, 25  30 and 36. There was no winner for the €12,700 jackpot. Weekly winners were Patricia Cunningham and Liam Armstrong. Season ticket winners were Brian Weir and Declan Timlin, and the lucky dip winner was P Armstrong.
