It was with a deep sense of sadness that the people of Kiltimagh learned of the recent unexpected death of Breege McNicholas nee Kelly, Carranteane, Kiltimagh, and formerly of Ballygar, Co Galway.
Breege was a much loved and cherished member of the local community. She had a wonderful sense of humour which endeared her to so many and she loved to meet up and talk to people as she went about her daily life. She was a good friend and neighbour who always had a smile and a welcome for everyone who came to visit her home.
Breege was a devoted wife to her late husband Paddy and a loving and caring mother and grandmother who will be sadly missed. She will also be missed by her many great friends, neighbours and by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her since she came to live in Carranteane.
Predeceased by her husband Paddy, Breege is survived by her children Patricia, Gerald, Richard and Evelyn, sisters Catherine, Ellen and Mary-Pauline, brother Michael, daughters-in-law Caroline and Colette, son-in-law Gary, grandchildren Jamie, Ellie, Callum, Daniel, Ciara, Oisin, Cathal, Aoibhin, Kate and Jane.
Breege reposed at her home in Carranteane on Friday, February 2, from where the Funeral Cortège left on Saturday afternoon for her Funeral Mass at the Church of the Holy Family. Afterwards she was laid to rest in Kilkinure Cemetery.
May her gentle soul rest in peace.
