The annual Killasser Parish Tractor Drive will take place on Sunday, October 29. Registration at Killasser Community Centre from 1.30pm with departure at 2pm. Entry €15 per tractor, €10 for a second tractor. Refreshments served and participants spot prizes after the run.
The Knit and Knatter Group meet every Tuesday morning from 11am to 1pm in the Meeting Room in the Parochial House. Everyone welcome.
Do you like singing Irish folksongs and ballads? This year in the Irish Traditional Music Club Swinford there is a class dedicated to learning these wonderful old songs. This class is in Swinford National School each Tuesday from 4-4.30pm and costs €5. There is also a mixed instrument tuition class for beginners/improvers from 4.30-5pm and a mixed instrument class for advanced from 5-5.30pm followed by an Irish traditional session from 5.30-6.00pm.

Féile na Samhna 2023 will take place this year from Friday, October 27, to Monday, October 30. Michael Davitt CCE are preparing a full programme of events and are looking forward to a busy and very enjoyable weekend. More information to follow.
Swinford Gardening Club trip to Sligo, Riverstown and Boyle will take place on Saturday, October 21, leaving Swinford at 9am with a breakfast stop in Tubbercurry. There will be a visit to Sligo Abbey with an opportunity to shop in Sligo Shopping Centre followed by a visit to Sligo Folk Park, Riverstown, King House and Ardcarne Gardening Centre in Boyle. Clann Machua Drama Group will present ‘The Cheque's in the Post’, a hilarious comedy, in the Town Hall Theatre, Kiltimagh, this Thursday and Friday night, October 12 and 13, with curtain up each night at 8pm. Tickets are €15 and available from Langan's Off- Licence or at the door.
Bingo will take place in The Turf Shed, Killasser, on Wednesday, October 11, from 7pm and will take place every second Wednesday until Christmas. Tea and coffee and all drinks are available. All are welcome, whether it’s to play Bingo or have a drink at the bar. All proceeds from Bingo will go to support the elderly in the community for a lovely Christmas get together organised by the parish committee with Mike and Paul leading the way. The numbers drawn in the Swinford Community Lotto draw held on October 2, were 10, 12, 21 and 30. There was no jackpot winner. €70 vouchers were won by Attracta Feeley, Killasser and Mary Durkan, Derryronane; €35 was won by Pádraig O’Toole, Park Road, Swinford. The jackpot is now €7,400.

Harry Potter Magical and Musical Midterm Workshop will be held on Wednesday, November 1, in Bohola Community Centre. It is suitable for children aged 5 – 12 years, and takes place from 10am - 1pm. A free full time professional cookery course is starting soon in Mayo Abbey Centre. The course is run in conjunction with MSLETB. Uniform, books and all course materials are provided. Participants also receive training in HACCP, manual handling and barista. You do not have to be in receipt of a social welfare payment to apply.
