2025 Chairperson Ciaran Ó’Broin welcomed a large crowd to this event held in Healy’s Hall in Glenamoy recently, with a special welcome to guest Kobe McDonald from Crossmolina GAA. 2025 was a very successful and enjoyable year. All the underage players from nursery to U14 played very well during the year and did the club proud. A special thank you to all the managers, coaches, selectors and physio’s for all their hard work and dedication throughout the year. The cúl camp was a great success with over 120 children taking part. Thank you to all the sponsors, who without your support would not function. Thank you to the 2005 Junior Champions who held their 20-year reunion in August, an enjoyable day was had by all and all monies raised was donated back to the club. Thank you to Micheál Moran, for the excellent coaching in the national schools and all his hard work as coaching officer.
The club had the privilege of hosting JFK GAA club from Leeds in April, their U8, 10 and 11 teams took part in blitzes along with Belmullet and Erris St Pats. Thank you to Steven Doherty and Mark Irwin for organising this event. It was a great example of community coming together and thank you to everyone.

Kilmore Ladies FC held their annual awards night recently to mark another successful 2025 season. It began with the presentation of half zip tops by Kevin Kennedy, sponsored by Kevin Kennedy Motors Limited. Kilmore Ladies won the inaugural Mayo Women’s League Masters Cup and the Eco Powered Cabinets Mayo Women’s League Division 1. Medals were presented to all players.
The club awards were presented to; Golden Boot winner - Katharina Barrett; Goal of the Season - Annie Lynskey; Most Improved Player - Annaleize McDonnell; Most Versatile Player - Louise Maloney; Young Player of the Year - Lauren McHale; Player of the Year - Róisin Greene; Hall of Fame - Michelle Lavelle; Supporter of the Year - Lenny Gilbert; Appreciation award - Kieran Lavelle and Ray Whelan; Club Person of Year - Teresa Whelan.

On Saturday KLFC attended the Mayo Women’s League awards and squad members picked up awards with Annie Lynskey winning the MWL Masters Golden Boot and Louise Maloney and Annie Lynskey making the MWL Masters Team of the Year. In the Eco Powered Cabinets Mayo Women’s League Division 1, Katharina Barrett received Golden Boot and Eilis Coyle, Katharina Barrett and Louise Maloney made Team of the Year. Huge congratulations to all the ladies and wishing them a every success in the season ahead.
There was no winner of the lotto draw on Thursday, November 20, when the numbers drawn were 9, 16, 23 and 1. Lavelles Pharmacy voucher of €75 was won by Margaret Barrett McGinty. Lucky Dip winners were; Áine Ní Chiaráin (online) won €50 and Edel Lally (Online) won €25. The jackpot in the latest draw held on November 27, was €22,500.
Gaeltacht Iorras are delighted to be part of the Gaeliomana project, working in partnership with Mayo, Sligo, Leitrim Educational Board, Mayo Gaeltacht Secondary Schools, Roinn na Gaeltachta and TG4 (Molscéal) to offer a new exciting learning and development opportunities to transition year students in Gaeltacht secondary schools. Participants will be learning leadership, communication, organisational and hurling coaching skills as well as video skills, scileanna teanga agus eolas ar deiseanna fostaíochta as Gaeilge as well as Immersive Trips
A Christmas Carol and Craft Fair will be held in Glenamoy Community Centre on Sunday, November 30, at 3pm. This event is hosted by SN Cholmcille - (Carrowteige and Glenamoy.) It will begin with Christmas carols performed by the children followed by a Christmas raffle and craft fair.
The annual Christmas party will be held in the Broadhaven Bay Hotel on Sunday, December 7, with Mass at 2pm followed by dinner, music and entertainment. If interested in attending give names to Breege McDermott, Carmel Gaughan, Maeve McDonnell or call the parish office on 097 20777.
The annual general meeting of Comhar Dún Chaocháin Teo will be held in the Old School in Cheathrú Thaidhg (F26 Y8P7) on Wednesday, December 3, at 7.30pm.
The club held its annual general meeting recently in the Erris IWA Logmore Belmullet on Saturday, November 22. The out-going chairperson Mary Teresa Barrett welcomed everyone. The club reflected on another successful year both on and off the pitch in 2025. In her report she thanked all the officers and committee, volunteers, coaches and managers of all the teams in the club from the academy right up to the senior squad. Mary thanked all the club sponsors for their continuing support over the year and everyone for their help in running the various fundraising events over the year and to the general public for supporting these events.
Congraulations was extended to the U16 and U17 squads for their league success and management and all the winners at the recent club awards and also to Des O’Connor for his excellent presentation plus overseeing the Sports Genius which is a great success. She thanked Micky Dixon and the CE team - Ann, Michael and Frank on keeping the club grounds looking well and presentable plus Martin Padden for his help. Thanks to the PRO and his trusting camera plus keeping the Facebook page up to date. The club has now added a Club App to the media promotion. Many thanks to the parents for their input plus their help in ferrying the children to away games which takes a lot of financial pressure off the club in transport costs.
Another milestone in the club history during the season was the introduction of two girls’ teams which hopefully will be added to as time passes. Many thanks to their managers and their assistances for their support and many thanks to Mary Padden and her efforts with applying for grant support and all the paperwork associated with that process. Thank you to the I.W.A. for the use of their facilities for meetings.
There were several soccer camps held over the year which are always a great success and well attended. The club stand was refurbished plus the astro turf got a makeover and solar panels were installed and over the next while the floodlights on the training pitch will get a much-needed update. The out-going treasurer David Reilly gave a very satisfactory report of the club finances plus all the managers of the various age groups gave a good report of their progress over the season. The out-going club secretary Paul Reilly added saying thanks to the junior team management for their successful time over their three-year term. A proposal was made and seconded that the current committee be re-elected with officers to be selected at the next club meeting.
The draw was held on November 23, and the numbers drawn were; 1, 7, 8, and 11 for a jackpot €7,000 with no winner. The house prize €100 winner was Marie Deane, Glenamoy and the €30 offline winners were Máire Cait Ui Mhurchu, Kilgalligan and Meantha Boys, Lenarevagh. The €30 online winners were Dee Gallagher, Donegal and Eilish Irwin, Meath. The jackpot in the latest draw held in Connolly’s Stonefield was €7100.
Iorras Aontaithe are having a quiz night in the Clann Lir Bar on Friday night, December 5, beginning at 8.30, teams of four, €10 per person.
A book launch will be held in the Erris Coast Hotel in Geesala on December 4 at 7.30pm. The book is called Land War (Mayo’s forgotten conflicts) by Dr Maura Irwin a native of Attycunnane. The book will be launched by Minister Dara Calleary TD with refreshment and music on the evening.

There was no winner of this week’s Kiltane GAA Club lotto jackpot of €5,900 with the two €50 winners being Paul Gallagher, Bangor and Aaron Barrett, Geesala while Lawrence Barrett, Geesala and the Munnelly grandchildren Geesala both won €25. The two on line winners were Peter McDonagh, Geesala €50 and Caroline Sweeney, Bangor €25.
Bingo will take place in the GAA complex Bangor this Tuesday, November 2, at 8pm. The jackpot will be €550 in 46 calls or less.
