We offer our deepest sympathy to Michael Keane, Sinolane on the death of his brother-in-law P.J. McDermott, whose death took place in Dublin recently.
The death took place on August 26th last of Joe Henry, Sinolane, Kilmovee.
Joe passed away peacefully in Mayo Hospice, Castlebar surrounded by his family.
Joe, also known as Josie, was predeceased by his parents Edward and Mary and his sister Imelda.
He was a gifted tradesman and, in particular, excelled as a carpenter. His many pieces of work have been commented upon very favourably by many as being of the highest quality, and many of those people would be knowledgeable in the trade themselves.
Joe was passionate about neatness. His sense of dress was first class as was his house and farm.
The practice of his faith was in first place in his list of priorities, so much so that he attended the Bicentenary Mass in Glann Church a few short weeks ago, even though he was quite ill at the time.
Joe is survived by his brother Gabriel (Galway), sisters Anita Smyth (Dublin), Marcella McDonnell (Ballyvary) and Marian Moffatt (Sligo), brothers-in-law Michael and Dougie, nephews and nieces, relatives, neighbours and his wide circle of friends.
Joe reposed in the Kilgarriff Funeral Home, Ballaghaderreen on Wednesday, August 28th, followed by removal to St Patrick’s Church, Glann.
Mass of the Resurrection was held in St Patrick’s Church, Glann on Thursday, August 29, at 11am with cremation afterwards in Shannon.
We offer our deepest sympathy to the family of Joe and to all who mourn his passing.
May Joe rest in peace.
